We welcome applications from women of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, and backgrounds. Our intended parents come from all over the world, so we’re always looking for a diverse range of donors.
Every application is reviewed individually. Final medical eligibility and approval to donate are determined by the treating fertility clinic and their medical team.
To be considered for the Emerald Donors program, you’ll generally need to meet the following basic requirements used by our partner fertility clinics:
Meeting these requirements does not automatically guarantee acceptance into the Emerald Donors program, a match with intended parents, or approval to donate. Every application is reviewed individually, and final eligibility and donation approval are determined by the treating fertility clinic and their medical team.
Absolutely. Egg donation requires time, commitment, flexibility, medical appointments and travel. Donors receive compensation in recognition of that commitment.
We recommend a compensation of USD $4,000, as this aligns with most of our partner clinic programs and provides the widest range of matching opportunities.
If you have a different compensation expectation, you’re welcome to let us know when you apply. We’ll include your reasonable compensation expectation on your donor profile for intended parents to consider.
Please note that many of our partner clinic programs have fixed compensation packages. Requesting a higher amount may mean your profile is not eligible for those programs and is instead considered for direct matches or programs that can accommodate your request. As a result, it may take longer to find the right match.
Approved screening, carrier screening, travel, accommodation, and other donation-related expenses are arranged and covered as part of your donation journey.
Usually, yes, if you’re matched internationally.
Most of your screening and monitoring appointments take place close to home. If you’re matched, you’ll usually travel for the final stage of your donation. Depending on the clinic and destination, you’ll typically be away for around 4 to 8 days, excluding travel time. Some journeys are shorter, while others require a longer stay. Before confirming a match, we’ll discuss the expected timeline with you.
Let us know about any work, study, family, or personal commitments, or if there are destinations that won’t work for you. We’ll always do our best to find a journey that’s a good fit for you!
Egg donation is a meaningful decision. Before applying, take a little time to think about whether it’s the right fit for you.
💭 Emotional readiness
Are you ready to make an informed decision, complete the screening process, and understand what egg donation means for you?
⏰ Time commitment
The process takes time and requires flexibility for appointments, screening, daily medication, monitoring, and, if needed, travel for your egg retrieval.
🤝 Support
Having supportive friends, family, or a partner can make the journey easier. Our team, including coordinators who’ve been through the process themselves, will also be here to guide and support you every step of the way.
🔒 Donation type & future contact
Think about whether a closed, semi-open, or open donation feels right for you. It’s also important to understand that advances in DNA testing mean complete anonymity can never be guaranteed.
🩺 Health & safety
Take time to learn about the process, possible risks, and what to expect. Ask questions, do your own research, and only move forward when you feel informed and comfortable.
🌱 Looking ahead
Consider how you feel about the possibility of children being born from your donation, and whether you’d feel comfortable discussing your decision with future partners or family members.
1. Initial screening
We'll arrange and cover the cost of your local AMH blood test and initial screening. Most appointments are quick visits at a nearby pathology laboratory or clinic.
2. Carrier screening
We'll send your at-home carrier screening saliva kit, along with everything you need to complete and return it.
3. Match-ready
Once your results are complete, your profile will be listed as screened and match-ready.
4. Clinic screening
If you're matched, we'll arrange your fertility clinic screening and guide you through the remaining medical and legal steps.
5. Donation journey
Once you've been medically and legally cleared, your donation journey begins. Throughout the process, we'll coordinate your approved screening appointments, carrier screening, shipping, travel, and support you every step of the way.
There’s no set timeline. Every donor’s journey is different.
📝 Application complete → Your donor profile usually goes live within a few days.
🧬 Potential match or standout profile → If an intended parent is interested in your profile, or our team identifies strong matching potential, we’ll invite you to complete your AMH blood test (results in around 24 hours) and at-home carrier screening (results typically take 4 to 6 weeks). We’ll arrange and cover the cost of this approved screening.
✅ Match-ready → Once your screening is complete, you’ll be ready to be matched with any medically and genetically compatible intended parents.
💚 Matching → Some donors are matched within weeks, while others take longer. Every intended parent is looking for something different, and new matching opportunities arise all the time. We’ll continue introducing your profile whenever suitable opportunities arise.
✨ Your role matters too! → Completing your screening promptly, keeping your profile up to date, adding great photos, taking time with your application, and recording an introduction video all help give intended parents the best opportunity to get to know you.
Every intended parent is looking for something different, so there's no "perfect" donor. A genuine, complete application helps us create a donor profile that truly reflects who you are.
